These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of the AuLegalDocs website and services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Services

AuLegalDocs (ABN 33 659 785 538) ("AuLegalDocs", "we", "our" or "us") provides downloadable legal document templates designed for use under Australian law. Our templates are self-help tools, not legal advice, and are intended as a starting point only. You should consider seeking independent legal advice for your specific circumstances.

2. Licence and Usage Rights

When you purchase a template, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your personal or internal business purposes.

You may:

  • Modify and customise templates to suit your needs
  • Use templates across multiple projects within your organisation
  • Create final documents based on our templates

You may not:

  • Resell, redistribute, or share templates outside your organisation
  • Claim authorship or ownership of our templates
  • Use templates for unlawful or misleading purposes
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or extract underlying files beyond permitted use

3. Pricing, Payment and Refunds

  • All prices are shown in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable.
  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store card details.
  • Refunds: We offer conditional refunds within 14 days if:
    • files were not delivered or are corrupted and we cannot remedy promptly;
    • the product materially does not match its description and we cannot provide a corrected version promptly; or
    • duplicate orders were placed in error.
  • Refunds are generally not available for change of mind once a file has been successfully delivered.
  • Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) remain unaffected.

4. Intellectual Property

All templates, website content, and related materials remain the intellectual property of AuLegalDocs or its licensors. Your purchase grants you a licence to use the templates, but does not transfer ownership of copyright or other intellectual property rights.

5. Disclaimers

  • Our templates are provided "as is" without warranties, guarantees or representations of any kind.
  • We do not warrant that a template will meet your specific requirements or be suitable for your particular matter.
  • Using our templates does not create a solicitor-client relationship. AuLegalDocs is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Our liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of our services is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months prior to the claim; and
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss.

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights under the ACL.

7. User Accounts

If you create an account, you are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login details;
  • All activities that occur under your account; and
  • Promptly notifying us of any unauthorised use.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland for resolving any disputes.

9. Changes to Terms

We may amend these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be published on our website and take effect immediately upon posting. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
